Transparency Project has produced this very useful and informative piece on remote court hearings. The guide explains how the court system is now functioning for Family work, and how it is likely to be for the foreseeable future.

With remote hearings set to be the norm for a while, we will be sharing this guide with clients wherever court hearings are likely.

Many new challenges have been faced during this pandemic.  Firms and the court alike have had to be reactive in dealing with them.

Remote hearings have been strange, and will still take some time to get used to (and certainly won’t be the answer in every case).  The technology is evolving though, and is being utilised much better than it was 12 weeks ago!

As the restrictions begin to ease, courts are reopening with social distancing and COVID policies in place. Face to face hearings will still take place but certainly the guidance is that remote hearings, using video facilities as far as possible, are far more likely.
