Methods of Payment

We appreciate that using legal services can be expensive and so we offer a variety of methods of payment. You can instruct us in the traditional sense of becoming a client and we will give you as accurate an estimate of the likely costs to be incurred as possible. We will keep you regularly informed of the costs you are incurring and you will generally be given a bill on a monthly basis unless your matter is dormant. Approximately every six months you will be given a detailed breakdown of the costs that you have incurred and again we will endeavour to provide an estimate of the costs you might be likely to incur.

As an alternative we provide a completely different approach of a ‘pay as you go’ format. This means that you do not become a client as such, you deal with any correspondence and complete any forms, you may even attend court on your own. But at any point you can pay for an appointment with a qualified solicitor to give you advice with regards to the running of your case. At all times you have conduct of your matter, you deal with the court and your spouse, you fill in all the necessary forms, you appear in court or attend mediation as appropriate. It is obviously a much cheaper option, but you do not have the on-going support by email and telephone that a regular client would. You are basically on your own unless and until you make an appointment for advice which is paid for at the time on a one-off basis.

For more information about any of these options please do not hesitate to contact us.
